Europe - James Baldwin once said,
"I met a lot of people in Europe. I even encountered myself."
Europe has a special connection with the U.S. – the history, the romance, the arts, the
common heritage. Whether it’s the history of Greece, a Parisian cafe, the art of the
Italian Renaissance, or, perhaps, the home of your ancestors, Europe offers wonderful
travel experiences:
Greece - Walking the streets of Athens, and visiting
the inspiring Parthenon takes you back to the birth of western civilization.
Visit the playground of Plato, Aristotle, Homer, and Hippocrates. Hot sun, azure seas,
and an active nightlife conspire to bring you the ultimate vacation, let the gods of
ancient Greece capture your imagination.... I know they've captured mine.
France - Known for its shopping,
Paris exudes fashion at every turn, from the trend-setting fashions in the shops on
Rue Etienne Marcel and Place des Victoires, to the better known emporiums of Haute Couture.
Paris’ most famous smile, could it be that she’s contemplating replacing her black dress
with a more fashionable statement? Visit Mona Lisa where she resides at the Louvre.
She alone is worth the trip.
Italy - In Florence and Rome, Michelangelo,
da Vinci, and Raphael vied with one another to create perfection in art. Raphael exerted
tremendous influence over European artists with his Vatican frescoes. Michelangelo's magnificent
Sistine Chapel is a monument to his painting, sculpture, and architecture, and da Vinci's Last
Supper in Milan, leaves us questioning: did he paint one of the 12 apostles as a
woman?
Ireland - It's said that Ireland, once visited, is never forgotten,
and for once the blarney rings true. The Irish landscape, a velvet carpet of luminous green,
conjures up mythical characters; leprechauns and elves. The air, laden with mist, may sometimes
feel like an airborne sea, but you’ll find consolation and spirited camaraderie in a true
Irish pub.
"May you have warm words on a cold evening. A full moon on a dark
night, And the road downhill all the way to your door." -- Kris
