For U.S. citizens, the U.S. Virgin Islands has the added benefit of not requiring a passport...currency is the American dollar, and so it's an easy, "no worry" vacation.   The best time to visit the Virgin Islands is in the winter--get away from the snow and ice and be on the beach, enjoying a refreshing drink (the VI's are known for banana daquiris!) in just a couple of hours from your home. Non-stop flights are available from cities like NYC, Atlanta, Miami, Dallas, etc. There's a great range of accommodations, from cool, quirky and inexpensive to ultra-luxury. And it's a sailor's paradise--everything from catamaran cruises to luxury yachts to renting an entire sailboat just for the two of you is available! And, the Virgin Islands are known for having the best shopping in the Caribbean. The Travel Channel rates this property #5 in all of the Caribbean. 3 nights from $1299 per person Wyndham Sugar Bay Beach - St. Thomas   All-inclusive, this resort is very popular with our honeymoon couples Why? Lots of activities, everything's included with their all-inclusive packages, great beach location, and great access to all sorts of activities in the area. 5 nights from $654 per person Frenchman's Reef and Morning Star Marriott Beach Resort   A pair of resorts on St. Thomas Frenchman's Reef is a deluxe cliffside hotel with virtual any amenity you can dream of. The Morning Star is a "resort within a resort"...very nice, world-class, and exclusive. My last visit to the resort was in November--and I continue to be impressed by these two properties. 6 nights from $1429 per person Caneel Bay - St. John   Recently totally renovated, combines natural setting with luxury accommodations This resort has a very unique and special character and style...see their photo gallery and you'll understand what I mean. With only 166 guest rooms, it's intimate and romantic--a perfect place for two people to start their life together. 7 nights from $2689 per person The Westin St. John Resort and Villas   Quieter than St. Thomas, but close enough to hop over for the shopping and nightlife experiences A full-service resort with all the activities and amenities an active couple might want. My last visit was in November, and I'm happy to report that this resort is as beautiful as ever! 7 nights from $3009 per person Peter Island   Great privacy for celebrities and luxury honeymooners Peter Island Resort recently made the 2007 Condé Nast Traveler "Gold List" as well as the Travel + Leisure magazines' "T+L 500" list for 2007. Check out the list of awards they've won...it's as long as your proverbial arm :-) 5 nights from $1563 per person The Buccaneer, St. Croix   Very popular with honeymooners, this is one of my favorites from St. Croix St. Croix is a little more laid back than St. Thomas--cruise ships tend not to stop there nearly as much.
