Creative registry item of the month

This month our winners are Jenny & Justin, who are off to St. Lucia this month for their honeymoon. In addition to spending considerable time in Iraq on peace missions, they're also using their registry to help Iraqi farmers:

Sheep and Goats

Living in the Middle East has created a soft spot for sheep and goats in our hearts--after all we met while hanging out with them in Palestine, and here in Jordan we must walk through the flock in order to hail a taxi.

All sheep and goats will be purchased through Heifer International and be donated to needy families and communities.

To learn more about Heifer International's approach in providing aid see www.heifer.org.
The fun stuff on your registry always get bought first!

Honeymoon Articles

Read our experts advice on travel to the Seychelles, Maldives, and Mauritius   We've added 3 new articles since last month. Teresa and Casey from Mango Safari are travel specialists with TheBigDay, focusing on African safaris the resort islands in the nearby Indian Ocean. They travel there at least once a year to check out the resorts and build relationships with ground operators and other providers. check out their advice on travel to the Maldives, Mauritius, and the Seychelles.

Look for advice on these destinations and more in the Expert Advice section of the menu on the left of our website.

See resorts using Google Earth

We've added a new feature to our online resort information at TheBigDay: a link to Google Earth!

You can click the link, and it will launch Google Earth, fly you overtop your hotel, and zoom in so you can see the location of the resort with respect to the coastline, other resorts, etc. You can zoom in or out further, click on our links to other resorts so you can see several resorts on the image at once...it's really cool.

You'll find the link below the main image of the resort on the main page for each resort on our site. We have links for most but not all of our resorts...and we're working on the rest.

If you don't have Google Earth installed, it's a free download and just takes a couple of minutes to install.

Now you can create a customized URL for your wedding website--whether it's a site you created with us or elsewhere (like TheKnot, the Wedding Channel, etc.). You can give out the custom URL to your friends and family, and when they type it into their browser, they'll instantly be redirected to your wedding website...even if it's not hosted at TheBigDay!

Check out our new free custom URLs

Just log into your registry, and select the link that says "Create a custom URL for your wedding website".
