Description

Your package includes a number of wonderful extras. Please see below.

Accommodations

All rooms feature gorgeous Belizean hardwood furniture, air conditioning, ceiling fans and private porches. All colorfully tiled bathrooms have plenty of counter and storage space and plush, thick towels. You will enjoy a peaceful night’s sleep with fine linens, comfortable mattresses and soft pillows.

Honeymoon suites: the two spacious Honeymoon Suites are 17 X 28 feet plus an 8-foot porch overlooking the beach. Bedrooms have romantically draped four-pollster king size beds made of barba jolote wood. The bedrooms open into a large front room complete with a comfortable sitting area and a dining table and chairs. Walls are painted in cool, tropical tones and have vaulted ceilings with exposed barbe jolote beams. Porches boasting views of the ocean and lush foliage have mixed hardwood deck chairs and cozy hammocks.

Treehouses: these spacious, individual cabanas provide the utmost in privacy. Each unit is raised 12-feet and is surrounded by a variety of trees, orchids and birds. The treehouse size is 17 X 26 feet plus an 8-foot porch. Four treehouses feature stately king-size beds made of the hardwood barba jalote. Two rooms have 2 mahogany queen beds. All treehouses have air conditioning, louvered windows, ceiling fans, hardwood floors and full size futon couches. The bathrooms are spacious and have double vanities and a shower with a 5-foot window and skylight. Porches have comfortable mixed hard wood clam chairs, a table and hammock. The primary attraction of the treehouses is privacy. Each cabana is freestanding without a room above, below or directly beside it. Because of the surrounding trees you may see up close a plethora of birds.

Beachfront deluxe: the beachfront deluxe rooms are 17 X 28 Feet plus an 8-foot porch. One room has a mahogany king size bed and a table and chairs. In a separate room there are two twin beds. Both rooms have their own entrance to the shared bathroom.

Dining

Dine in casually elegant surroundings either inside the Great House or on the veranda. Every effort is made to find ingredients of the highest quality and have them delivered pure and fresh. They serve scrumptious international cuisine with a Caribbean twist.

After a fun-filled day savor tasty meals while enjoying a bottle of fine wine. Start your meal with oven fresh bread, homemade soup, fresh salad or a scrumptious appetizer. Select from Belizean seafood, mouth-watering poultry, pork or beef or a vegetarian dish. Nightly specials ensure a wide selection of choices during your stay. For desert, try the decadent chocolate Ecstasy, Caye lime pie or banana fritter. Finish off the evening with a glass of tawny port, herbal, green or black tea or a bottle of Champagne under the stars!

Activities

Snorkeling

The majority of snorkeling takes place in the South Water Caye Marine Reserve where conservation and safety are the two key words. A certified Belizean Tour guide who would love to share his passion and knowledge of the ocean with you accompanies all snorkelers. For safety reasons we never dive and snorkel at the same site.

Fishing

With its abundance of marine life the Belize’s Southern Reef is an angler's paradise! From reef trolling to river fishing to trying your luck on the flats you'll have a fishing experience you'll never forget! The Belize coastline offers the ideal ecosystem for a wide variety of marine life. There are many rivers, mangrove lagoons and islands that serve as nurseries to aquatic species. With the addition of abundant flats and the barrier reef game fish thrive!

Rainforest Adventures

Belize's marine activities are so extensive and varied you could easily occupy your entire vacation on - or under - the water. But there is much to do onshore, as well! Mayan Ruins, virgin rainforests, caves with ancient artefacts, exotic plants and animals -- there is so much to explore on mainland Belize!

Choose from: jungle and waterfall hike; cave and jungle adventure; a trip to Cockscomb Basin wildlife sanctuary and jaguar preserve; tropical birding; jungle river canoeing and kayaking; magical Mayan history tour to Xunantunich. Also available: a bike tour; Monkey River tour; manatee watching; horseback riding; cave tubing; and a mangrove lagoon tour.

Scuba

Beneath the turquoise sea of Belize is an underwater world that exceeds every other Caribbean dive destination in diversity, size and scope. The total diving area is absolutely immense. More than 185 miles North to South, the Belize Barrier reef system is the greatest stretch of coral in the Western Hemisphere and encompasses a huge variety of coral reef including walls, pinnacles, spur and groove, swim-throughs and more. It gets even better because farther offshore are three enormous rings of coral known as atolls which provide hundreds of miles of additional reef dropping off into the deep blue.

Hamanasi is a PADI 5 Star Gold Palm Resort, and you will experience Belize's best diving combined with their personal service touch. Their professional, PADI certified staff will help you explore miles of the pristine Southern Barrier Reef, and three of the Caribbean's four atolls. We dive the Southern Barrier Reef, Glover's Reef Atoll, Turneffe Islands Atoll, the Elbow, Lighthouse Reef, the Blue Hole, Half Moon Caye and more. Seasonally, they dive with the largest, perhaps most awesome, fish of the sea – whale sharks!

Awards

Fodor's says:
