Accommodations
Experience the epitome of Polynesian luxury in their well-appointed beach and garden villas. The romance of traditional Polynesian architecture meets the creature comforts of the West in modern interpretations of the local dwellings, or are as they known.
Rendered in a minimalist palette of ivory and local woods, the spare elegance of the villas takes the romance quotient up a notch. Traditional accents such as Wild Hibiscus, Mangaian (coconut) sinnet weaving on beams as well as a faux thatched roof with natural pandanus add to the ambience of this South Sea paradise.
The Little Polynesian offers all the amenities one would expect from the Cook Islands' most upscale boutique resort. Beach villas promise aimless days of looking out to the lagoon's turquoise waters and waking up to the gentle sound of waves, while the scent of tropical flowers fills the air around our garden villas.
Activities
The Little Polynesian is surrounded with the kind of natural beauty that the South Pacific is renowned for. Clear blue skies, a turquoise lagoon, calm waters and a temperate climate make it ideal for a number of water-based activities including swimming, snorkeling, diving, sport and game fishing, and kayaking. Titikaveka on the southeastern side of Rarotonga, where The Little Polynesian is based is renowned for its fishing.
Other activities include hiking, pony trekking, cultural tours, bird-watching tours, scenic flights, golf, tennis, squash and lawn bowls. Special events and festivals, which are held throughout the year, can be a fun time to plan your visit.
Cook Islands Cultural Shows
Long considered the finest Polynesian dancers, one thing that you notice about Cook Islands dancers is their complete harmony with the music. Some performers dance for the crowd, others for the obligation, but Cooks troupes dance strictly for the love of music and dance and it shows with every single drumbeat. Cook Islanders and their love of dance and music is so deeply integrated with life's essential moments and a cultural show will leave you with a lasting memory not just of an island celebration but a way of life.
