Description
At the end of the Hana Highway on the lush eastern coast of Maui is the legendary AAA Four Diamond Hotel Hana-Maui and Honua Spa, where tranquility is a way of life. This luxury resort has long been known as a favorite Hawaiian vacation retreat for generations of travelers seeking a serene and enchanting escape.
Accommodations
Plantation House - This special turn of the century house provides privacy and a great location for weddings or small meetings. It is located on four acres of beautiful lush landscaped grounds. Fully air conditioned. There are two bedrooms, two-and-a-half bathrooms, large private dining room, and living room area. The interior is done in rich koa wood. There is a large kitchen, bar, library, spacious lanai, and wraparound porch. The hotel provides shuttle service to/from the main resort. For those who would like to walk, it is about 10 minutes from the main building.
Bay Cottages - The Bay Cottages are low rise bungalow style and are located closest to the Main building. All feature spacious bathrooms with separate soaking bathtub and shower and most have private enclosed garden view from bathtub. All lanai patios have lounge chairs.
Sea Ranch Cottages - The Sea Ranch Cottages are representative of plantation houses that you see throughout the islands. At the entry to your cottage, you will find red and green ti plants. The ti is a plant deeply rooted in Hawaiian spiritual tradition. We have planted it there for protection - as is the custom in Hawaii. The floor mats are woven lauhala - the dried leaves of the pandanus tree. There are a variety of Kapa patterns, the Hawaiian term for bark cloth, used in the rooms. There are five different patterns used spanning the 18th and 19th century and modeled after Kapa patterns found in the Bishop Museum collection in Honolulu. These spacious cottages are duplex style on an ocean bluff. Each cottage has a spacious living area with high ceilings, oversized bathrooms, skylights, wet bar, cottage, dining table, and large lanai deck with chaise lounge chairs. Over half with private deck spas.
Dining
There are several options for dining at the hotel. Located off the lobby is the Main Dining Room with a full menu selection for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Connecting to the restaurant is the Paniolo Lounge offering lighter fare with appetizers, sandwiches, and salads.
The Hana Ranch Restaurant, located in the Town Center, offers a daily lunch buffet, and dinner on Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday nights. The take-out window offers hamburgers, salads, and sandwiches. Room service is available for those who would like to stay in their rooms.
Spa
Located on an acre of landscaped grounds, the intimate Honua Spa takes advantage of the spectacular views of Hana Bay. Here, guests can enjoy the ultimate in nurturing with massage, facials, and body treatments. The spa features steam rooms, cold plunge, aquatic therapy pool, lava rock whirlpool and more.
The Spa magnifies what Hana naturally offers by utilizing the abundant plants, minerals, and water found in their teas, baths, natural body and face products, and treatments. Through the wide variety of therapeutic services offered, the guests open to experience Hana more deeply, thus restoring balance and peace to body, mind, spirit, and emotion.
Activities
Enjoy horseback riding along the Hana coast, complimentary daily yoga classes, tennis, snorkeling, Hawaiian cultural activities, or relaxing at nearby Hamoa Beach -- described by James Michener as "the most perfect crescent beach in the Pacific."
Complimentary activities include: Hula lessons, Ukulele lessons, a Hawaiian Medicinal Plant Walking Tour, bicycling, tennis, three-hole pitch & putt, and croquet. Also available for an extra charge: horseback riding along the spectacular Hana coast and/or the mauka (mountain) ranch lands, up toward Fagan's Cross; the Hana Ranch Eco Safari Tour aboard a 4x4 safari vehicle; a kayak and snorkeling tour; and the Ka'Eleku Cavern Tour--an exciting adventure along winding trails deep into the subterranean passages of one of the world's largest lava tubes.
