In 1801, a stream of lava swept down the slopes of Mount Hualalai, miraculously sparing the beautiful ancient site where Kona Village Resort now stands. Today, our uniquely Polynesian village welcomes you with a charm all its own.
Accommodations
On 82-acres, 125 individual hale offer guests a choice of picturesque garden views, tranquil lagoon settings and dramatic ocean panoramas. So distinctive is each hale that many guests request their same hale upon their return.
Private whirlpool spas are available in 23 of our oceanfront hale. The spa is located on the lanai, perfect for a romantic evening under the stars or whale watching.
Dining
The Kona Village dining experience, featuring Full American Plan, emphasizes fresh island-grown vegetables and fish from local waters. Our menus also offer light cuisine selections.
Begin the day with old-fashioned country omelets and Belgian waffles at Hale Moana overlooking the bay. Enjoy a sumptuous buffet lunch Al Fresco, just steps from the beach. Dinner offers a choice of two oceanfront restaurants: Hale Moana or the more formal and romantic Hale Samoa.
Activities
A marine sanctuary, our bay is rich with ocean life. Yellow butterfly fish and blue tangs are frequent visitors, as are Hawaiian green sea turtles.
Exploring comes naturally at Kona Village Resort. As our guest, you'll enjoy complimentary unlimited use of snorkels and masks, kayaks, sailboats and body boards. You'll also find ongoing volleyball games every day and complimentary glass bottom boat tours.
Optional activities including catamaran snorkel cruises, scuba diving, and dive excursions can be arranged through our Beach Activities Desk. Other activities such as horseback riding and helicopter tours can be arranged through the concierge.
