Description
This award winning Maui hotel recently completed more than $50 million in upgrades and renovations making it the perfect destination for a fabulous Hawaii vacation.
Designed to create a unique and luxurious residential experience consistent with The Waldorf Astoria Collection, the rooms welcome guests with a tasteful blend of Western and Polynesian décor, including new carpeting, freshly-painted walls, beautiful dark wood furnishings and 37" flat-screen televisions. The bathrooms have been enhanced with new frameless shower enclosures, upgraded fixtures, lighting and artwork, complimenting the existing oversized soaking tubs, marble vanities, and sinks and accessories.
With a total project cost of $1.6 million, the newly restored Wailea Canyon Activity Pool features fresh color-schemes that compliment the original colors of Wailea Canyon when it opened in 1991. All water features - seven separate pools including a baby beach, seven waterslides, the world's first water elevator, caves, waterfalls and Jacuzzis, have been re-tiled and re-plastered to enhance guest enjoyment and relaxation in and out of the water.
Hawaii's largest and most luxurious spa, Spa Grande, also completed a beautification project with new carpet, furniture throughout the spa, carpet and updated lighting. Its Grand Salon features new manicure, pedicure, shampoo and make-up stations and the state of the art fitness center features new top of line Precor fitness equipment.
Accommodations
Each guest room of the Grand Wailea Resort Hotel & Spa provides abundant space for rest and relaxation. Averaging 640 square feet, their luxuriously appointed Maui accommodations each contains either a king-size bed or two queen beds. These Maui beachfront accommodations also feature a private lanai (balcony), Italian marble bathroom with oversized bathtub and separate glass enclosed shower, sitting area, and writing desk. In-room amenities include air-conditioning, individually controlled ceiling fans, a 37-inch flat-screen television, cable, in-room movies, high-speed internet access, three direct-dial telephones, fully stocked refreshment center, complimentary in-room safe, coffeemaker, bathrobes, and twice-daily housekeeping services.
Napua Club Rooms are located in the exclusive Napua Tower, a private hotel within the resort, offering a selection of additional amenities and added services. Napua Club Rooms offer approximately 60-70 square feet of additional space and an upgraded amenity package that includes: Napua Concierge dedicated to the guests in Napua Tower, personalized check-in with Napua Concierge, and access to one of two private lounges serving complimentary continental breakfast each morning and cocktails and hors d'oeuvres in the early evening. All Napua club rooms offer partial garden or spectacular ocean views.
Deluxe Ocean Guestrooms are located on the upper floors of the Wailea, Haleakala and Molokini wings, and offer the best views in the hotel, where guests can enjoy fully unobstructed ocean views.
Ocean Guestrooms are located in all wings of the resort except Napua Tower, and offer a combination of ocean and flora views.
Deluxe Garden Guestrooms are located in all wings except the Napua Tower, and offer views of the lush landscape and are situated on the lower floors of the resort.
Terrace Guestrooms are located in the Molokini wing, offering views of Mount Haleakala and are conveniently located near the resort's retail shopping esplanade and Café Kula.
The Grand Wailea Resort offers a total of 52 Suites. All suites are luxuriously appointed, well designed, and part of a lavish travel experience. Suites at the Grand Wailea are sized beginning at 1,300 square feet, offering upgraded amenities and toiletries, WiFi service, DVD player, surround sound, and more.
Their suites located in Napua Tower offer upgraded services that include Napua Concierge dedicated to the guests in Napua Tower, personalized check-in with Napua Concierge, and access to a private lounge serving complimentary continental breakfast as well as cocktails and hors d'oeuvres each evening.
Dining
In the heart of the resort, Bistro Molokini offers a relaxing, open-air ambiance with breathtaking views of the Pacific and distant islands. Featuring an exhibition kitchen and kiawe wood-burning oven, the Bistro offers a delightful blend of California and Island cuisine.
If you'd like a private dining option, arrange a dinner in a poolside cabana. Their Cabana Dining is the most private and most romantic setting.
Enjoy casual terrace dining set above the flowering Hawaiian gardens. Cafe Kula offers a lighter fare with delicious breakfast items and assorted freshly baked pastries, gourmet quiche, sandwiches, salads, Lappert's ice cream, coffees and desserts.
With panoramic views of the beautiful Reflecting Pool, the Pacific Ocean and neighboring islands of Molokini and Kaho'olawe, the Grand Dining Room offers a daily breakfast buffet and a la carte menu.
Romantic and exotic, Humuhumunukunukuapua'a offers the most spectacular sunset views. Named after Hawaii's state fish, their Polynesian thatch roof restaurant floats on a saltwater lagoon filled with tropical fish. Activities
Kayak Tours - A tranquil and adventurous snorkel-and-kayak tour awaits you. Departing from Wailea Beach, their Eco-adventure takes you along the picturesque South Maui coast -- on a mile-long journey through pristine coastline and sea-scaped lava. Accompanied by experienced guides, your adventure will include a secluded White Rock beach and snorkeling through clear waters filled with amazing coral and vibrant marine life encompassing schools of fish, underwater gardens, and endangered Hawaiian sea turtles. Also, visitors from December to April have a good chance of seeing humpback whales. Windsurfing Lessons - In just 90 minutes, they guarantee you'll be up and sailing. They begin with a 30-minute lesson discussing "wind theory" using their on-land Windsurf Simulator. Next, you take to the ocean for a full hour with their instructor. Definitely a "hands-on" approach to learning. SCUBA Programs - The Grand Wailea has the only resort-designated SCUBA training pool in Hawaii. They offer complimentary pool lessons to first-time divers at 10:00 am and 1:30 pm daily for hotel guests.
