Accommodations
For the very best of Seychellois architecture, its 47 stunning pool villas combine contemporary, colonial and 'plantation' décor; from high sloping ceilings, airy verandas and louvered doors to ethnic woven textiles. The eclectic villa interiors provide a true sense of place - allowing you to experience Banyan Tree's signature blend of romance, rejuvenation and exotic sensuality in Seychellois style.
The villas are all designed and created to the highest level of excellence, incorporating local materials and artifacts, ensuring the ultimate in style and ambience. Each villa has a private pool, sundeck and Thai Sala as standard, and there are many extra indulgences available within the Beachfront and Presidential Villas.
Dining
Dining is of course a pleasurable experience, with the option of three restaurants serving a combination of South-East Asian and international cuisine.
The Sunset Bar is available for thirst-quenching cocktails and a variety of tasty snacks, and for the ultimate in romance, experience the decadent in-villa dining opportunity, where you can order from a special à la carte menu or even have your own private outdoor barbeque arranged.

Against the backdrop of majestic granite mountains facing the deep azure Indian Ocean, relaxation comes easily. Take time out at the Banyan Tree Spa, where our well-trained therapists devote themselves to your treatments that draw on Asian traditions dating back centuries. Reawaken your zest for life with simple sensory pleasures in 'Time Honored Traditions' and 'Banyan Indulgences'.
Awards
"The Banyan Tree Mahé, Seychelles, was without a doubt the most spectacular hotel I've ever stayed in. It was a perfect blend of seclusion and privacy with first-class service, and the scenery and surroundings were amazing. From our villa, we could see nothing but jungle and ocean, and could hear nothing but birds. We were treated like royalty!" Michael, co-founder of TheBigDay

Melinda and I spent our first few nights in the Seychelles at the Banyan Tree on Mahe, and I have to say it's the most luxurious resort experience I've ever had. The accommodations are all private villas tucked away in the hillside and along the beach, each with a private plunge pool, a separate sundeck, showers that open to the jungle outside, and wonderful privacy--you have to really try hard to be able to spot a few square inches of another one of the villas from your own.
Fantastic, invisible-except-when-you-need-it service from an incredible staff. We felt like we were movie stars and the resort's people were there only for us.
The beach is fabulous--it's about the size of Kaanapali Beach in Maui, but instead of having a dozen or so hotels with 500 to 1000 rooms to share it with, it's there just for the 40 villas of the Banyan Tree resort.

We spent the last part of our honeymoon in a "Pool Villa by the Rocks" at the Banyan Tree resort in Mahe, Seychelles. It is a good 40+ minute car ride from the airport. When we first arrived, the service at check-in was very slow and poor. And we had to call for shuttle service via golf cart everytime we wanted to go from our room to other parts of the resort. But amazingly, the service for the shuttle was extremely fast and efficient.
The bedroom wasn't huge, but it was nicely decorated and always nicely scented with the the burning incense of the day. But the outdoor patio, infinity pool, and hot tub overlooking the crashing waves and all within our private villa were wonderful. The furniture was a little worn out and the hot tub didn't always work but it was just heaven when it did.
The food was good but very expensive. Expect to pay over $50 for lunch for two persons no alcohol and well over $100 for dinner for two again no alcohol.
The beach and public pool are gorgeous. My one complaint about the beach is that the beach chairs and umbrellas are only available for guests staying in the beach front villas. For the rest of us who were paying "only" $1000 per night, we had the option of laying our towels on the sand to sit and sun or retreat back to our villa or to the pool if you wanted any shade.
Despite our complaints, we would return to this resort again.
